Mission Statement

Professional Librarian Statement of Elizabeth

Education is ever changing and has taken on a new dimension. Due to the expansion of information, increased digitalization of text, the demand for critical and creative thinking, communication, and collaborative problem solving; it is imperative that the library be an integral part of the total curriculum and educational institution. One of the primary goals of education is to empower individuals to define and identify the information needed, select the best resources, locate and organize the information within the sources, evaluate the resources by extracting relevant information through the process of organizing, analyzing, and presenting it in a comprehensible manner. An integral library, as part of the total curriculum and educational institution, will provide students and instructors with the ability to access quality information from diverse perspectives, create new knowledge, and share their new-found knowledge with others, fostering a lifelong interest in information literacy and learning.
