My name is Elizabeth, otherwise known as “Liz” by my colleagues and peers. I am the creator and author of this resource. One of my greatest joys in life is writing and sharing information with others. It is my hope that you will find the contents of this blog beneficial to you. My educational background includes a Master of Science Degree in Educational Media and Technology, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. I aspire to continue my education in the discipline of Library and Information Science. I plan to do so by obtaining a Master of Information in Library and Information Science Degree, specializing in Social Sciences and Health Promotion; and continuing for the completion of my doctorate in this exciting world of information.
When individuals hear that I am a librarian I often receive comments such as, " you must love books." Though this is true, what I love more, is the information contained in those books, online, and the various other forms of media that presents information. Personally, being a librarian is much deeper than the love of books. It is the love of learning, retrieving, processing, synthesizing, organizing, and presenting information in a way that is valuable to others.
Librarianship is an ever changing and growing discipline, which encompasses numerous specializations. I call it a journey because of the constant change, challenge, and growth in this diverse realm of education. Though I have created, planned, and set specific goals for my journey and destination; I'm certain to encounter challenges which are not part of my educational road map. It is my hope that sharing and collaborating along the way, will shed light on these uncertain moments, encouraging myself, and inspiring others who are on a similar path.
